Run Leeds Students

After many years of organising a jog run on Mondays from cromer terrace the Leeds University Cross Country Club is taking their efforts a good step further by creating a Run England group.
Having qualified as Leaders in Running Fitness, Jocelyn Payne and Bethan Davies will be leading runs and jogs around Hyde Park throughout the year. These will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays with a dedicated Run Leeds Student Leader also being present at every parkrun. The parkrun is a weekly timed 5k run with accurate markers at each kilometre. It is free to all those participating and takes place every Saturday in Hyde Park. The University of Leeds has taken an active role in establishing the event so that students, staff and the local community can enjoy a shared community space and get physically active in the process. See the parkrun website for more details.

Schedules, training partners and advice will be available with personal development through events such as the Leeds Hyde Park Parkrun and races such as Abbey Dash and Peco League but the group is also suitable for those who wish to run just for fitness and fun.

Run Leeds Students sessions will be as follows:
Mondays – meet at 6pm for a 1-2mile jog and also 6.30pm for the 3/5/7mile run (see cromer terrace run on the training page). On Mondays the meeting time will be at 6.15 in the second semester.
Wednesdays – 6.15 for a run/’session’.
Saturday – parkrun 8.45 (for a 9am start).
Also more advanced beginners (and returners) thinking of joining LUUCCC sessions in the future can come on tues/thurs and only do part of the session (e.g. drills/mobility) to get an idea of how it works without overdoing it too early (for this reason there is no run on Fridays (Linda and Joss need a day off as XC training is tues/thurs!)).
